A notebook, a projector, and a pointer with remote control will be available in the main session room (NAFSIKA). All presenters should save their presentations on a USB drive in a format readable on a Windows-based PC. Presenters should transfer their files to the notebook at the venue of their presentation before the session, and check the correct appearance of the presentation. An own laptop can be connected with the consent of the session chair. Preferable times are during coffee, lunch and inter-session breaks. A student volunteer will be available to assist the presenters. Presenters are requested to get in contact with the session chair 10 minutes before the beginning of the session.<\/p><p><strong>Best Student Paper Award<\/strong>: an award for the best paper presented by a student or post-doc will be given during the closing session, consisting of a certificate and a 100 Euros stipend. The poster size is at maximum 800 mm (W) x 1000 mm (H), portrait orientation. Posters may be put up on Sunday September 8 after 1PM and stay mounted until the end of the day on Tuesday September 10. The boards will be removed from the hotel space on Wednesday morning and any posters that have stayed mounted will be discarded. Board pins and tape will be available on-site. There will be a list with the allocated poster slot. Authors should also prepare 1 slide for a 1.5min pitch in the Room NAFSIKA during the pitching session preceding their poster presentation as indicated in the program. <u>The slides should be sent to the email address of the conference fosbe2024@iceht.forth.gr by 10PM of Sunday September 8 for the presenters of poster session I and by 10PM of Monday September 9 for the presenters of poster session II<\/u>. On the day of the session that you are chairing, obtain any changes to the program from the support staff at the Registration Desk.<\/p><p>Before the start of the session, collect the biographical information of the presenting authors. Use this information to briefly introduce the speaker before his\/her presentation. Be present in the room where the session is to be held 10 minutes before the start of the session and check that possibly all the presentations have been copied on the notebook provided at the venue. Remind the presenting author about the time available for their presentation; see above for details. Remind the authors at the 3-minute mark (<em>e.g.<\/em>, at the 13th minute of presentation for regular presentations) to start making their concluding remarks. Please ensure that there is sufficient time for discussion.<\/p><p>In case of \u201cno-show\u201d or if a talk ends early, do not advance the presentations. This requires that <strong>all authors <\/strong>of a contribution have a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at the platform. To find your PIN if already registered with the system from previous FOSBE or other IFAC conferences or register a new PIN if first time user of this submission platform, please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/ifac.papercept.net\/conferences\/scripts\/pinwizard.pl\">PIN Wizard<\/a>.<\/p><p>At the <a href=\"https:\/\/ifac.papercept.net\/conferences\/scripts\/start.pl\">online paper submission site<\/a>, you find the FOSBE 2024 entry and you click on <strong>\u201cSubmit a contribution to FOSBE 2024\u201d<\/strong> link.<\/p><p>You will be guided through the process and you will have to specify for your contribution the following:<\/p><ul><li><strong>relevant keywords<\/strong>, which will assist the program committee to categorize your submission<\/li><li>if you wish it to be considered for an <strong><u>oral<\/u><\/strong> <strong><u>or<\/u><\/strong> only for a <strong><u>poster presentation<\/u><\/strong>; it is noted that a small number of submitted contributions will be selected for oral presentations from the IPC from any type of contribution (regular or short paper or abstract). All other accepted contributions will be presented as posters.<\/li><li>If your contribution is to be presented by a young researcher (student or young post-doc (up to 5 years from PhD)), please specify if you wish it to be considered for <strong><u>a young investigator award<\/u><\/strong> (best oral (shown as conference award in the system) or poster presentation award).<\/li><\/ul><p><u>At least 3 young investigator awards<\/u> are to be granted. Participation of young researchers is very positive for the discussions and the objectives of FOSBE conference series.<\/p><p>For a contribution to be finally accepted for presentation at the conference at least one of the co-authors should have been registered by the final paper submission deadline. One student registration fee covers one contribution.
